Mars Baby Comes To Terms With The End Of An Consuming Romance With His Latest EP “Echoes”.

The complexity of love and time is one where bliss makes forever temporary and anguish everlasting. [STAY LOW]’s anthology of revolving paradoxes, Mars Baby toils with an excruciating exorcism from heartache on his new EP Echoes. Echoing the infamous biblical sentiment of Luke 12:2-3 popularised as the idiom “What’s done in the dark will come to light”, the antithesis of his groundbreaking love-struck debut Salem, sees Mars Baby vulnerably grieving the end of the spiritually intoxicating relationship which inspired hits such as “Over U” and “Salem’s Mantra.” With lead singles such as “Be Safe” and deeper cuts such as “Lily” and “In The Dark”, Echoes is a vulnerable account of Mars Baby’s agony to release himself from the shackles of an endearing intimacy that was as potent as the addictive substances that plague the multifaceted rockstar from time to time. “Echoes is a meditation on lost love, the moments that echo through my mind as i move through life. Stylistically, it’s an homage to a lot of classic music, songwriters & guitarists that have influenced me. I wanted it to sound nostalgic, like a record you would find in your grandparents’ closet or something. In that way, the project echoes personal & musical memories for me. It’s me in my most stripped down & vulnerable state.” Shared Mars Baby Healing is not a linear journey, and for an aching heart that is still in need of closure, the [STAY LOW] pharmacy prescribes a healthy dose of Mars Baby. Priddy Ugly Unravels The Pains Of Growing Up In Soweto On His Video “30 Minutes To Soweto”

One thing that’s hard to dispute about Priddy Ugly is his loyal-to-a-fault knack for unpredictability. I’m not alone amongst those who expected the second instalment of his act series to bleed into the action discourse of its predecessor. Instead, we are taken on the scenic route of the hardships and of growing up in destitute circumstances with ACT II on “30 Minutes To Soweto.” The lead single of Priddy’s forthcoming EP, MUD, “30 Minutes to Soweto” shows us how to survive the South Western Township. While ghost-riding his Opel Kadett Boss (aka the Karapo), and pistol toting with co-star Maglera Doe Boy, Priddy does the heavy lifting of confronting a melting pot of trauma dating as far back as his childhood. While Priddy is living up to his tweets of delivering cinematic videos, he’s also become really good at teasing what’s next, transitioning into the bustling Amapiano-esque single, “Botsotso”, to flex his broad range. Priddy Ugly has said that MUD is the next phase in his metamorphosis and after raising the bar of conceptual videos with “SOIL” and “Handful of Dust” as easy magnum opus contenders, I am well within my rights to not expect anything less than the best from one of my top 5 MCs of all time.
Priddy Ugly Takes The Scenic Route To Healing With His Latest Single, “30 Minutes to Soweto”.

Tasked with the grand duty of addressing every elephant in the room necessary to mend broken linages [STAY LOW]’s tenacious wordsmith, Priddy Ugly, unpacks the misfortunes he has endured and witnessed in his community with his latest single “30minutes to Soweto” taken off his forthcoming EP, MUD slated for release on the 2nd of September 2022. As a chronological account of the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual scars that plague his thoughts, “30 minutes to Soweto” finds Priddy Ugly at the mercy of pondering hopelessness in a graphic narration of the ongoing consequences of South Africa’s relationship with poverty, crime and violence of all forms. Priddy Ugly sustains the ideology of having faith like a mustard seed placing prayer and open dialogue among hurt people as a focal point in the inner workings of the healing process. Mars Baby Consoles A Broken-Hearted Ex-Lover With His Latest Single “Be Safe”.

Emerging from a success-induced hiatus following his groundbreaking EP Salem, [STAY LOW]’s jack of all things alternative and master of Romance, Mars Baby returns to poke the winter heartache with his latest single, “Be Safe”, taken from his forthcoming EP Echoes available for pre-order. Evolving his signature lo-fi-esque sound complimented with elusive guitar strings, Mars Baby taps into a sombre vocal register and offers his muse a serenade of comfort, doing his best to end their tumultuous relationship on good terms. “Be Safe is about something that should’ve worked but didn’t, when love is not enough to see a relationship through. Even when it’s over, you carry a lot of love and care for that person, and you just want to know that they’re looking after themselves. You look back at all the things you could have done differently, you consider hitting them up but decide against it. At the end of the day, you just want them to be safe.” – Mars Baby In an era where ghosting is the new language of breakups, Mars takes the gentlemen’s road less travelled and croons a well-deserved closure and a heartfelt farewell. Echoes is slated for release on the 5th of August 2022. Stream “Be Safe”, request the record on your preferred radio station and connect with Mars Baby for More Music. Visual Artist Tumisang Khalipha Signs To [STAY LOW]

While a picture says a thousand words, a painting articulates a story. DIE MONDEZ TAKES US TO GANGLAND WHERE HE’S KING OF HIS EMPIRE IN “CONTRABAND/$AFE”
Die Mondez’s latest visuals “CONTRABAND/$AFE”, make an avid display of the long arm of his law and reign on the streets where he runs a cartel operation without leaving his place of business. The montage of scenery directed by Morale Pablo Phala of Johannesburg-based production house, Clout Cassette, show Mondez as the big boss who’s met with no opposition, and business runs smoothly. Flexing top notch lyricism and catchy hooks, Die Mondez stands out because of his chess-like execution, and with dons like 25k, the “Pheli Makaveli”, in his street exec committee it makes for entertaining viewing.
ZULUMECCA’S POSES DIFFICULT QUESTIONS IN THE SULTRY VIDEO FOR “DO YOU GET BITCHES”

Between her clinical songwriting structure and her subliminal message props, ZuluMecca prides herself on thought provocation, and her latest visuals for “Do You Get Bitches” is no different. I have to applaud Johannesburg-based director Fred-From-Yesterday, cinematographer and editor Teeman, and producer Jaden Thiel for compressing a multitude of the aforementioned messages into a linear narrative. In the video we find Mecca in a Joburg apartment dressed as a priest, complete with a Nefertiti-esque hat, spitting raps that clearly find her between a rock and a hard place. From the sultry vixen in denim hot pants, to the tithe money offered, to the signature wine pour, Mecca posed the question – when temptation is on your doorstep, how do you resist it? It’s easier said than done, anybody can emulate morality and proclaim sainthood. However, as human nature would have it, envy, ambition, desire and inquisitiveness make it hard for some to endure. Should Mecca be ostracised for her humanity? Have a peek at “Do You Get Bitches”, and let me know.
